Ed (@edhair_) is a Creative Director Stylist and a Master Colourist who is a true expert in his field. As Head Stylist at Oscar&Co, and with a keen desire to share knowledge, Ed contributes hugely to the education of our up-and-coming Apprentices and Emerging Stylists. Ed’s cutting and styling talents are wide and varied, but his true passion lies in curly hair. He loves to encourage women to embrace their curls, and bring out the natural beauty that curls bring to a woman’s look. He also enjoys educating guests in how to look after and style their hair outside of the salon. As if his work in hair does not keep him busy enough, Ed loves tinkering around with motorbikes in his time away from the salon.

Karoline (@grasshouse_hair) has been with Oscar&Co since 2019. Originally from Germany, she now lives in New Zealand with her fiancé Mark and young son Arthur. Karoline is a super friendly and bubbly Master Stylist and Senior Colourist, and a firm favourite with many guests including many of our male and short hair clientele. We are also super fortunate to have Karoline as the Oscar&Co Training Manager. Through lockdown she kept herself busy pulling together huge amounts of training material for our up and coming Apprentices, who are so lucky to be setting out on an amazing training journey with us. Karoline is now juggling her time in the salon with her time working on training documentation and mentoring our lovely up and coming Apprentices.

Phillipa has recently returned from maternity leave and is working in the Takapuna salon on Wednesday’s (including the late night). Phillipa is the longest residing member of the Oscar&Co family having started when it opened in 2010. She has since worked her way to become a Master Stylist and a Master Colourist. She has a long list of guests that have been coming to see her for many many years. Phillipa has a lovely and laid back nature and has a genuine interest in all of her guests. Her biggest strength and passion is cutting short hair on both female and male guests. When not at work, Phillipa enjoys spending time with her family, including her beautiful and cheeky son Otis and her darling daughter River.

Chenoa (@hairbychenoaa) joined Oscar&Co in 2022. Her happy, bubbly personality brings sunshine to the salon even on a cloudy day. As a Director Stylist and Senior Colourist Chenoa has a large portfolio of colour, cutting and styling work. She is known for understanding exactly what a guest wants, and delivering on that. Chenoa’s hairdressing skills are very broad, she truely loves creating every different colour (including brights and vivid) and styles. From short hair, to big bouncy blow waves. All types of blonde and big transformations. And like any good Stylist, she loves a challenge. One thing is for certain, all of Chenoa’s guests walk away with the most shiny and healthy hair!
When not in the salon, Chenoa can be found at a crossfit gym or relaxing at the beach. But more than anything she loves spending time with her young daughter Harper.

Yvie (@hairbyyvie) has been one of the Oscar&Co family since 2017. In that time she has progressed to become a well known and sought after Senior Colourist and Stylist. Her biggest strength and passion is anything related to colour! Yvie is a very big advocate for our enviable environment and culture. She is a strong driver in our ways of working and one of the reasons why Oscar&Co is the amazing space you know and love so well. When not in the salon, Yvie enjoys the social scene and you will find her enjoying the sounds at many of the Summer festivals.

Sanja (@sanjaloveshair) is a Senior Stylist and Colourist who brings a calm and quirky energy to our team. Sanja works at our Orewa salon. With over 24 years of experience in hair artistry, Sanja’s true passion is cutting hair and helping people embrace their natural texture and movement. Whether you’re a fan of free-flowing locks, curly or wavy hair, daring pixie cuts, chic short fringes or fabulous bobs, Sanja has got you covered! With beautiful blow waving skills, Sanja is passionate about teaching her guests how to recreate salon hair at home to ensure you always look and feel amazing. Sanja is a big advocate for colour work that grows out gracefully and seamlessly blends with those pesky greys. Outside of the salon, you will find Sanja going on adventures with her son Max and Fiancé Zol, exploring nature or strolling along the beach.

Zeldene (@z.does.hair) is a Senior Stylist and Colourist at Oscar&Co. She works mostly at our Orewa salon, but is in Takapuna every second Monday and Tuesday. Originally from South Africa, Zeldene has called NZ home since 2015. She is an extremely talented colourist with a passion for upskilling and furthering her colouring, cutting and styling techniques. Zeldene is a blow wave queen and will have you leaving the salon looking your best every time. When not in the salon, Zeldene enjoys paddle boarding, travelling and being with family and friends.

Jarod (@jarod_hair) is a talented Senior Colourist and Stylist who is always looking for ways to build his skills and get involved in editorial/fashion, community and other industry events. Possessing a natural eye for colour, Jarod’s passion lies in all things related to the art of colour, with a particular fondness for balayages and creating bright, clean blondes. Jarod is also the Colourist to see if you need a big colour correction. He would love to spend all day with you if needed, to correct any colour issues you’ve had in the past. Outside of the salon, Jarod enjoys making music and furthering his hair career with education and getting involved in fashion shows and photoshoots.

Amy (@hair.by.amylouise) is the newest Senior Stylist and Senior Colourist to join the Oscar&Co family. Coming all the way from Liverpool, and having lived in New Zealand previously, Amy is now back and ready to call New Zealand home. Amy is skilled in any type of colour or cut including trending shades and styles and will finish off with a big bouncy blow wave. Amy’s passions are in foiling and restyling hair from long to short. She is a talented short hair stylist. Outside of the salon, Amy is settling back into the New Zealand way of life with her husband and young daughter.

Jessy (@jessyleonardhair) is based at our Orewa salon from Monday to Friday. With over 10 years of hairdressing experience, Jessy is a Master Colourist and Senior Stylist. She has a huge skillset in hairdressing that she has learnt from, and alongside of some of the industry greats. Jessy loves everything colour. She has developed her own very unique technique of creating perfectly lived-in colours. From bright, seamless blondes, to rich coppers and glossy brunettes Jessy is a complete colour specialist. In her spare time, Jessy loves family time with her husband and 2 young boys.

Jenny (@jennyvioletstyled) has recently returned from maternity leave and is now working in the Takapuna salon on Thursdays. Jenny joined Oscar&Co in 2021 as a Director Stylist and Senior Colourist. As well as being a blonde specialist, Jenny is our resident tape-in hair extension specialist and has a clientele of very happy extension guests. Jenny is a perfectionist when it comes to extension installation. At Oscar&Co we use the highest quality European hair extensions. Another of Jenny’s strengths is hair-ups. She has a passion for wedding hair and likes to get involved in editorial/fashion events. If you are looking for a special occasion or wedding hair style, Jenny is the one for you!

Emily (@_hairbyemilylouise) joined the Oscar&Co Takapuna team in 2023 as a Master Colourist and Director Stylist. Originally from Australia, Emily has recently relocated to Auckland. She is very well known for her signature long-lasting, lived-in blondes. Emily loves balayage, big blonde transformations and colour corrections. Check out her social pages and you will see what we mean! Emily’s infectious energy and bubbly personality brings a nice vibrancy to the salon. In her spare time, Emily loves spending time exploring the new city she calls home, with her son Zeke.

Anika (@completelyneks) is an Emerging Colourist and Cutting Apprentice at Oscar&Co and she is also the Oscar&Co Floor Manager at our Takapuna salon. Anika has spent over 3 years as an Apprentice and a lot of this time has been spent learning the art of colour under various educators including our very own Yvie. As well as her expert root retouches, global colours, T-sections and toner maintenance services, Anika is now offering foiling and bleach services. The works she is producing is already such high quality! Anika loves her guests and in particular she loves to see them walk away with fabulous hair and a big smile on their face.

Leah (@_lbhair_) is an Emerging Colourist and Cutting Apprentice at Oscar&Co Takapuna. Leah joined us straight from school at the tender age of 15. It had always been Leah’s dream to become a Hairdresser and we are so proud of how far she has come. As an Emerging Colourist, Leah builds on the colour work she has been doing for the last few years (root retouches, global colours, T-sections and toner maintenance services) and now adds foiling and bleach services to her offerings. Leah is very self-driven and known for her hard work and dedication to her education.

Kylie has the very important role of General Salon Manager at Oscar&Co. Known as our salon mum, Kylie looks after the team as if they were her own. Kylie works across both our Takapuna and Orewa salons and keeps everything running smoothly. A real people-person, Kylie is normally the one to welcome you into the salon and ensure everything runs smoothly during your visit. Kylie also ensures the salon is always stocked with the right products and supplies to guarantee our guest experiences are always amazing. Outside the salon, Kylie enjoys spending time with her dogs Lily and Harley and you might see her during the weekends hanging out with them in Omaha.

Leesa is our second Salon Manager at Oscar&Co and spends most of her time at our Takapuna salon. Leesa keeps the day running smoothly, welcomes guests into the salon and ensures they have an amazing experience. Cool, calm and collected, even on the busiest of days Leesa will have everything under control. Very process driven, Leesa is outstanding at continuous improvement and is consistently making everyone’s lives easier. Outside of the salon Leesa enjoys reading, bush and beach walks with friends, cooking with her partner and joking with her sons.

Awatea (@hairbyawatea) is one of our lovely team of Apprentices at Oscar&Co. She is known in the salon as Tea and is mostly at our Orewa salon. Tea joined us in the busy post-lockdown period so got a really good first-hand experience of what a busy salon looks like. Since then, Tea has progressed into the second year of her Apprenticeship. She is already very skilled at root colours, global colours, toners and t-sections and is now learning the art of foiling. Tea is very well known for her amazing head massages. As with the other Junior Apprentices, Tea’s various education sessions at Oscar&Co is one of the highlights of her week.

Mikyla is a hairdressing Apprentice at Oscar&Co Takapuna and she has a remarkable amount of knowledge and experience, impressing us with her beautiful toning and blow waving skills. With her gentle nature, proactive attitude, and unwavering passion for everything hair-related, Mikyla has quickly become a cherished member of our salon family. We can’t wait to see how far Mikyla progresses over the next year of her Apprenticeship. Outside of the salon, Mikyla enjoys expressing her creativity through drawing, painting and learning languages. She also cherishes quality time with her friends.

Richelle is the newest member of our Apprentice team. With 2 years of hairdressing education under her belt, she has hit the ground running in the salon. Richelle understands how a salon work and is so proactive in her role. Richelle will be starting to learn our Oscar&Co way of blow waving, root colour and toner application processes through the first year of her apprenticeship. With a high calibre of Stylists in the salon, there is no shortage of team members who are willing to get involved in this education. In her spare time, Richelle loves reading on the beach and learning crochet.
