Karoline

MASTER STYLIST / MASTER COLOURIST

Located at our Takapuna salon. Karoline is passionate about grey transformations, boho blondes, long layers and short cuts

Karoline (@grasshouse_hair) has been with Oscar&Co since 2019. Originally from Germany, she now lives in New Zealand with her husband Mark and young son Arthur. Karoline is a super friendly and bubbly Master Stylist and Master Colourist, and a firm favourite with many guests including many of our short haired guests. Karoline loves soft and boho blondes and has started on an incredible journey into the world of grey transformations. We are also very fortunate to have Karoline as the Oscar&Co Training Manager. Every Friday Karoline dedicates her day to training planning, training meetings and training materials. Our Apprentices are so lucky to be on their amazing training journey under the pastoral care of Karoline. 

Please note, Karoline is currently no longer taking new guests as her waiting list is so long. Karoline will be seeing new guests for grey transformations only.

Located at our Orewa salon. Sanja is passionate about curls, short cuts, long bobs and shag cuts.

Sanja (@sanjaloveshair) is a Senior Stylist and Colourist who brings a calm and quirky energy to our team. Sanja works at our Orewa salon. With over 24 years of experience in hair artistry, Sanja’s true passion is cutting hair and helping people embrace their natural texture and movement. Whether you’re a fan of free-flowing locks, curly or wavy hair, daring pixie cuts, chic short fringes or fabulous bobs, Sanja has got you covered! With beautiful blow waving skills, Sanja is passionate about teaching her guests how to recreate salon hair at home to ensure you always look and feel amazing. Sanja is a big advocate for colour work that grows out gracefully and seamlessly blends with those pesky greys. Outside of the salon, you will find Sanja going on adventures with her son Max and Fiancé Zol, exploring nature or strolling along the beach.

Rebecca

Located at our Takapuna salon. Rebecca has two roles within the salon: Operations Manager and Senior Stylist

Rebecca is located across both our Takapuna and Orewa salons in her role as Operations Manager where she looks after the overall operations of both salons. As a Senior Stylist, Rebecca is an all-rounder enjoying all types of cuts and colours. Her work is impeccable, luxury and high-end. Rebecca is also one of New Zealand’s leading Great Lengths keratin bonded hair extensions installers. She is passionate about small bond installations to provide fullness, as well as full hair extension transformations. Rebecca has a calm and very friendly nature and is popular among both the team and her guests. With a long history in the hair industry, Rebecca has an extensive knowledge about hair and a practical approach to solving any hair concerns.

Jarod

DIRECTOR STYLIST / SENIOR COLOURIST

Located at our Takapuna salon. Jarod is passionate about colour corrections, colour transformations, balayage and all styles of cuts

Jarod (@jarod_hair) is a talented Director Stylist and Senior Colourist who is always looking for ways to build his skills and get involved in editorial/fashion, community and other industry events. Possessing a natural eye for colour, Jarod’s passion lies in all things related to the art of colour, with a particular fondness for balayages and creating bright, clean blondes. Jarod is also the Colourist to see if you need a big colour correction. He would love to spend all day with you if needed, to correct any colour issues you’ve had in the past.

Jarod is proficient in all types of short or long cuts as well as any trending styles.

Outside of the salon, Jarod enjoys furthering his hair career with education and getting involved in fashion shows and photoshoots.

Amy

Located at our Orewa salon. Amy is passionate about foiling, short cuts and restyling from long to short.

Amy (@hair.by.amylouise) is a well-established, bubbly and fun-loving part of the Oscar&Co Orewa family. A true all-rounder skilled in any type of colour or cut including trending styles and colours. As a Stylist, the talents and skills Amy is widely known for are short haircuts and restyling hair from long to short. As a colourist, Amy is passionate about foiling.

Coming all the way from Liverpool, Amy is now settled back into the New Zealand way of life with her husband and young daughter. Everyone is extremely excited for later in the year when Amy is due to extend her little family further. Please get in quick to see Amy who will be going on maternity leave in November!

Lorine

SENIOR STYLIST / MASTER COLOURIST

Located at our Orewa salon. Lorine is one of the best in New Zealand at traditional French balayage

Originally from France, the birthplace of balayage, Lorine brings exceptional expertise in creating soft, seamless balayage, lived-in blondes and effortless, elevated colour. As a Master Colourist, Lorine has exceptional colour theory and uses fine, precise placement to create exquisite colours of any type. Brunettes, coppers and especially blondes, Lorine creates beautifully blended colours that are low-maintenance and require less frequent visits to the salon. As a Senior Stylist Lorine can cut all longer styles and her blow waves are  delicate and intentional.

Outside the salon, Lorine has been enjoying getting to know our beautiful part of New Zealand, exploring new places and making the most of everything Orewa has to offer with her partner and young daughter.

Fern (@fernhairstylist) is a Creative Director Stylist and Master Colourist at Oscar&Co Takapuna salon.

Originally from Brazil, Fern has a wealth of experience, creativity, and passion in her hair dressing toolkit. Fern loves a challenge and is competent in any creative cuts or colours as well as full transformations. Her blonde, brunette and copper work is impeccable.

From a young age, Fern knew she wanted to work in an industry that helps women feel confident, beautiful, and empowered. Today, she feels incredibly lucky to spend every day surrounded by inspiring women, helping them look and feel their very best.

Located at our Orewa salon. Megan specialises in lived-in blondes, balayages and brunettes.

Megan (@_meganhair_) is a Senior Stylist and Senior Colourist at Oscar&Co Orewa salon. Megan specialises in lived-in blondes, soft blended balayages and brunettes. Megan’s blonde work is impeccable. From the brightest of creamy blondes, to blended low maintenance blondes that grow out beautifully. If you are looking for low-maintenance, or luxury expensive looking colours, Megan is the colourist for you. 

Megan cuts all types of longer styles and is an expert in all types of waves.

Outside of the salon, Megan loves to travel and she is a keen animal lover. Megan is kind, gentle-natured and a joy to be around.

Megan works full days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in Orewa.

Leah

SENIOR STYLIST / SENIOR COLOURIST

Located at both our Orewa and Takapuna salons. Leah is passionate about foiling, hair painting, blonde transformations, dimensional brunettes and bouncy blow waves.

Leah (@_lbhair_) is a Senior Colourist and Senior Stylist sharing her time between the Oscar&Co Takapuna and Orewa salons. 

Leah is a very talented colourist who can handle any colour request be it blonde make-overs, glossy dimensional brunettes or vibrant coppers. Leah loves foils, balayage, global colours and can also add some vibrancy to your hair with vivid and pastel colours. As a Senior Stylist Leah can cut all long and short haircuts and she gives the most amazing blow wave to finish. 

Leah is very self-driven and known for her hard work and dedication to her education. Leah continues with in-salon and off-site education as she continues to build her already amazing hairdressing toolkit. 

Leah is fun-loving, creative and genuinely loves all of her guests. She is also heavily involved in the creation of salon social media content.

Mikyla

SENIOR STYLIST / SENIOR COLOURIST

Mikyla is passionate about cutting and can confidently cut any inspiration style including short cuts and trending styles.

Located at our Takapuna salon Mikyla (@mikylahair) is a Senior Stylist and Senior Colourist. Mikyla also wears the hat of Floor Manager at the Takapuna salon, ensuring the space is pristine and everything is in it’s place every time you visit.

Mikyla’s biggest strength and passion is anything related to cutting! Technical cutting skills often take years to perfect, however Mikyla excelled at all of her cutting education and is now becoming known in the industry for her cutting skills, in particular technical short cuts such as pixies, pixies and bobs and more fashion styles.

As a Senior Colourist Mikyla can confidently perform all colour services, she has wonderful colour theory and can create beautiful blondes, brunette and coppers. 

Mikyla is a kind and gentle presence in the salon and a big advocate of our team culture.

Jenny

DIRECTOR STYLIST / SENIOR COLOURIST

Located at our Takapuna salon. Jenny is passionate about tape and weft hair extensions and blond transformation.

Jenny (@jennyvioletstyled) has recently returned from maternity leave and is now working in the Takapuna salon on Thursdays. Jenny joined Oscar&Co in 2021 as a Director Stylist and Senior Colourist. As well as being a blonde specialist, Jenny is our resident tape-in and weft hair extension specialist and has a clientele of very happy extension guests. Jenny is a perfectionist when it comes to extension installation. At Oscar&Co we use the highest quality European hair extensions. Another of Jenny’s strengths is hair-ups. She has a passion for wedding hair and likes to get involved in editorial/fashion events. If you are looking for a special occasion or wedding hair style, Jenny is the one for you!

Located at our Takapuna salon. Anika is passionate about foiling, colour combinations and bouncy blow waves.

Anika (@hair.with.anika) is a Senior Colourist and Emerging Stylist at Oscar&Co Takapuna salon. Anika spent over 3 years as an Oscar&Co Apprentice and continues her cutting and colour education outside of the salon. Fast becoming well known for her colour work, Anika offers all types of colours. Anika is continuing her cutting education at pace, focusing on short cuts and curly cuts as she heads towards her next milestone of becoming a Senior Stylist. Anika is now getting very much involved in our Junior training programme and is becoming a much loved educator in toner application, root colours, global colours and blow waves. Anika loves her guests and in particular she loves to see them walk away with fabulous hair and a big smile on their face.

Located at our Orewa salon. Jessy is passionate about bright blondes, glossy brunettes and vibrant coppers.

Jessy (@jessyleonardhair) is based at our Orewa salon from Monday to Friday. With over 10 years of hairdressing experience, Jessy is a Master Colourist and Senior Stylist. She has a huge skillset in hairdressing that she has learnt from, and alongside of some of the industry greats. Jessy loves everything colour. She has developed her own very unique technique of creating perfectly lived-in colours. From bright, seamless blondes, to rich coppers and glossy brunettes Jessy is a complete colour specialist. In her spare time, Jessy loves family time with her husband and 2 young boys.

Emily (@_hairbyemilylouise) joined the Oscar&Co Takapuna team in 2023 as a Master Colourist and Director Stylist. Originally from Australia, Emily has recently relocated to Auckland. She is very well known for her signature long-lasting, lived-in blondes. Emily loves balayage, big blonde transformations and colour corrections. Check out her social pages and you will see what we mean! Emily’s infectious energy and bubbly personality brings a nice vibrancy to the salon. In her spare time, Emily loves spending time exploring the new city she calls home, with her son Zeke.

Phillipa

Located at our Takapuna salon. Phillipa is passionate about cutting hair including short cuts and fashionable styles.

Phillipa has recently returned from maternity leave and is working in the Takapuna salon on Wednesday’s (including the late night). Phillipa is the longest residing member of the Oscar&Co family having started when it opened in 2010. She has since worked her way to become a Master Stylist and a Master Colourist. She has a long list of guests that have been coming to see her for many many years. Phillipa has a lovely and laid back nature and has a genuine interest in all of her guests. Her biggest strength and passion is cutting short hair on both female and male guests. When not at work, Phillipa enjoys spending time with her family, including her beautiful and cheeky son Otis and her darling daughter River.

Zeldene

SENIOR STYLIST / MASTER COLOURIST

Located at both our Orewa and Takapuna salons. Zeldene is passionate about keratin bonded hair extensions, balayage, lived-in, low maintenance and multi-dimensional blondes, grey transformations and long layers.

Zeldene (@z.does.hair) is a Senior Stylist and Master Colourist at Oscar&Co. She works mostly at our Orewa salon, but is in Takapuna every second Tuesday. Originally from South Africa, Zeldene has called NZ home since 2015. She is an extremely talented Master Colourist with a passion for up-skilling and furthering her colouring techniques. Blondes, brunettes and coppers, Zeldene can deliver your inspiration precisely. Her blends are flawless. Her freehand hair painting is exquisite. And now Zeldene’s grey transformations have women from all over Auckland travelling to see her. When not in the salon, Zeldene enjoys paddle boarding, travelling and being with family and friends.

Chenoa

DIRECTOR STYLIST / SENIOR COLOURIST

Located at our Takapuna salon. Chenoa is passionate about colour including vivid and pastels, keratin smoothing, big bouncy blow waves, fashion cuts and short cuts

Chenoa (@hairbychenoaa) joined Oscar&Co in 2022. Her happy, bubbly personality brings sunshine to the salon even on a cloudy day. As a Director Stylist and Senior Colourist Chenoa has a large portfolio of colour, cutting and styling work. She is known for understanding exactly what a guest wants, and delivering on that. Chenoa’s hairdressing skills are very broad, she truely loves creating every different colour (including brights and vivid) and styles. From short hair, to big bouncy blow waves. All types of blonde and big transformations. Chenoa is our keratin smoothing expert in the salon and she’s very quick at it! Like any good Stylist, Chenoa loves a challenge. One thing is for certain, all of Chenoa’s guests walk away with the most shiny and healthy hair!
When not in the salon, Chenoa can be found at a crossfit gym or relaxing at the beach. But more than anything she loves spending time with her young daughter Harper.

Ed

CREATIVE DIRECTOR STYLIST 

Passionate about providing the full end-to-end cutting experience for every cutting style.

Ed (@edhair_) is a Creative Director Stylist who is a true expert in his field. Have a read of Ed’s blog to understand the full end-to-end experience of a Creative Director cut & blow wave with Ed. Although Ed is also a Master Colourist, he has made the decision to focus on his hair cutting and move away from colour work. Ed collaborates with the rest of the Oscar&Co team if his guests would also like colour work completed. As Head Stylist at Oscar&Co, and with a keen desire to share knowledge, Ed contributes hugely to the education of our up-and-coming Apprentices and Emerging Stylists. Ed’s cutting and styling talents are wide and varied, but his true passion lies in curly hair. He loves to encourage women to embrace their curls, and bring out the natural beauty that curls bring to a woman’s look. He also enjoys educating guests in how to look after and style their hair outside of the salon. Ed is involved in many industry hair events and shares his knowledge with the hairdressing community via various education positions. #expensivecolour is a term that is trending right now. We have a number of Stylists in each salon that have been trained in the services needed to create this sophisticated and seamlessly blended look. 

We get it, all hair colour at our salons feels and looks expensive, we specialise in quality and expensive looking hair. #expensivecolour is more of a term used to define a type of hair transformation that uses advanced, individualised foil placement and multiple techniques for a natural, low-maintenance, and seamlessly blended, sophisticated look. #expensivecolour is designed to grow out beautifully over a longer time, so even though you might spend more time in the salon to achieve #Expensive Colour, you should need less visits to the salon over time. Read below for information on how #Expensive Colour differs from traditional foils and traditional balayage.

#Expensive Colour services cannot be booked online as they require a complimentary consultation prior to the appointment. During the consultation, your Colourist will be able to book your service for the required amount of time and be able to quote accurately.

How does #Expensive Colour differ from traditional foils and traditional balayage?

#Expensive Colour is a premium, high-end colouring technique designed for guests who seek a seamless, sophisticated, and ultra-luxurious finish. This method involves advanced foil placement that enhances natural hair movement and facial features, ensuring a polished, multi-dimensional result with no harsh lines or obvious regrowth. Multiple toners are used to perfect the blend, creating a natural yet high-impact effect. Due to its precision and customisation, this technique requires longer appointment times and a higher level of skill, making it a more expensive service. However, it is also low-maintenance, with clients typically needing touch-ups only every 4-6 months, allowing for a long-lasting, effortlessly blended look.

Traditional Foils are the most structured and high-contrast highlighting method, offering bright, defined blonde from roots to ends. Foils are placed in a uniform or slightly customised pattern to lighten specific zones of the hair. This method creates strong, visible highlights and often requires multiple toners to maintain a smooth transition from roots to tips. While effective in achieving a bold and striking blonde look, traditional foils require more frequent upkeep, typically every 6-8 weeks, as regrowth lines become visible. It is a more standardised approach compared to Expensive Colour, with less room for customisation, making it a reliable choice for those who prefer a classic, well-defined highlight.

Traditional Balayage is a more artistic and freehand approach to hair colouring, focusing on a natural, sun-kissed, and low-maintenance effect. Lightener is painted directly onto the hair, creating a gradual fade from mid-length to the ends, allowing for a lived-in look with minimal upkeep. Unlike foils, balayage does not create harsh regrowth lines, making it an ideal choice for guests who prefer a softer, more relaxed blonde. While still customisable, this technique is less structured than Expensive Colour and does not provide as much control over placement. Fashion Colours

Fashion colours include pastel and vivid (or bright) colours which are usually applied over very blonde, or pre-lightened hair. Fashion colours could be an all-over single colour, or multiple colours through the hair in sections, or blended depending on your inspiration.

We use Evo Staino direct dyes when creating fashion colours.
